Lomi Fusion combines aspects of many different styles of therapeutic massage to address the client’s underlying factors which cause pain. Myofacial trigger point therapy is one important technique for relieving muscle knots and tightness. Sometimes the actual problem is not where the client feels the pain. This is called “referred pain” because the pain is transmitted, or referred, from one body part to another.
Lomi Fusion also includes elements of Lomi lomi, a Hawaiian style massage therapy. Long, gliding strokes and circular motions create a very relaxed feeling for relieving the stresses of everyday life.
The therapist and client work together to discover the underlying causes of chronic pain and dysfunction. The therapist will choose the appropriate techniques to treat the pain, increase circulation, release toxins and discuss steps the client can take at home to reduce chronic pain.
