Do you accept same-day appointments?
Our online booking system allows you to view and secure same-day appointments. Available slots are displayed two hours after your search time. For example, a search at 10:30 AM shows the earliest appointment at 12:30 PM. To book sooner, call us at 847-961-4800 for potentially available openings not shown online.

Why is prepayment required for appointments except for members?
To ensure the efficiency of our services and to respect the value of your time and that of our staff, we require prepayment for all appointments except for members. Given our demanding schedule and past occurrences of no-shows, prepayments are necessary to prevent cancellations.

I have chronic pain? Will the massage session be painful?
At PalmLeaf Massage & Wellness, sessions cater to chronic pain relief, offering relaxing and intense options tailored to your comfort and tolerance. Discomfort might occur as muscle tension breaks down, but we adjust accordingly to your comfort level. Remember, communication is key to achieving your personal wellness goal.

We also offer specially designed pre-natal and post-natal massages for mothers-to-be. Our goal is long-term pain relief, customizing treatments while prioritizing your overall well-being.

Are Walk-Ins Accepted?
As a family-operated clinic, we currently do not employ a receptionist. Consequently, the majority of our sessions are scheduled by appointment only. While we may occasionally have therapists available for walk-ins, it is more common that our slots are booked well in advance. To ensure availability and secure an appointment, please contact us at 847.961.4800 or schedule online at https://palmleafmassage.com.

Do I need a doctor’s approval before getting a massage?
A doctor’s prescription is advisable if you have a medical condition or recently had surgery. Hence, we have as much information as possible to ensure you benefit most from your massage treatment.

How early should I arrive for my massage treatment?
Returning clients should arrive at least five minutes before their session. New clients who book online should complete the intake form and arrive at least five minutes before the appointment. New clients who call to book an appointment should arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork.

What if I am late for my appointment?
To show consideration for other scheduled clients, we may not be able to accommodate you for your full session allotted if you arrive late.

How often should I get a massage?
For maintenance needs, it is typical for most people to do it once a month. People with chronic pain usually get a massage once a week until they experience relief. You and your therapist will discuss a treatment plan that includes the frequency of massage sessions.

What are the advantages of a longer massage session instead of a 60-minute session?
90-minute and 120-minute massage sessions allow more time for focusing on specific problem areas. Therapeutic massage relieves typical complaints of the head, shoulder, arm, hand, knee, leg, foot, or backaches due to injuries or arthritis. It has proven to be a well-adapted form of integrative healthcare that does not attempt to replace traditional Western medicine but augments and works in conjunction with contemporary allopathic care.

What should I do after my massage?
You and your therapist will discuss a plan of action tailored to your needs, including joint mobility exercises, lifestyle changes, and self-massage techniques. Your therapist will recommend how often you should have a massage, and you may go ahead and book your next appointment if you wish. For most people, a warm bath with 2 cups of Epsom salt is a great way to help remove toxins released during massage. It also reduces the soreness you may experience the next day. People with diabetes should consult a doctor first.

Is it possible to purchase a gift certificate in person?
Yes, you may acquire a gift certificate in person. Please get in touch with us at 847-961-4800 to schedule your visit so our staff can make the necessary arrangements before your arrival. Since we do not have a receptionist on-site, another option is to preplan and customize your gift certificate online at palmleafmassage.com. Upon completing the online purchase, kindly call us at 847-961-4800. We will then print the certificate on premium paper and prepare it for pickup in an envelope at our clinic.

Massage Sessions – what you need to know

Arriving on Time
We value your time and recognize the importance of our therapists’ carefully managed schedules. Our dedicated professionals are committed to your well-being, and each appointment is specifically reserved for you. Before commencing your session, the therapist will review your intake form and may seek additional information to ensure thorough preparation.

Please note that tardiness will reduce the duration of your allocated time slot. Thank you for understanding and adhering to this policy.

Communication is key
Make Sure To Speak Up About Your Preferences – Don’t be afraid to speak up during a massage session if you need something done differently or feel uncomfortable. If the pressure is too much or too little, your therapist can adjust it accordingly. Everyone has their comfort levels, no matter how good the therapist is.

After your session, your therapist may provide you with self-care ll what you will provide body maintenance feeling if you don’t speak up. Don’t hesitate to ask for clarification—your journey to feeling better is worth it!

And if you find yourself so relaxed that you drift off to sleep, that’s perfectly fine, too!

Embrace Your Therapist’s Suggestions
It’s great when your massage therapist asks which areas you’d like them to focus on and if there are any spots they should avoid. If you’re uncertain or don’t have specific requests, trust that your therapist can offer thoughtful suggestions based on your medical history and what will most benefit you. Remember, it’s all about open communication and sharing what you hope to achieve from the session.

Be Respectful Of Your Therapist
Your massage therapist is a professional and deserves to be treated as such. Be respectful of their time, and do not try to extend your session beyond the allotted time. Also, never say or do anything rude or inappropriate, as it could make the experience very uncomfortable for both of you.

Do Not Eat Right Before A Massage
Eating right before a massage can make you feel bloated and uncomfortable, so it’s best to avoid doing so if possible. If you must eat something beforehand, choose a light snack such as fruit or some crackers.

Ensure Adequate Hydration
It is important to stay well-hydrated before and after your massage. Drinking water helps the body flush out toxins and waste products that may be released during the massage. However, try not to drink too much water right before your appointment to avoid having to interrupt the session for bathroom breaks.

Disconnect and Embrace the Moment
Turn off all phones and devices to fully enjoy your massage. Imagine soothing music and gentle lighting without disturbances. This will help us maintain a serene atmosphere.

Remove Jewelry for Safety and Comfort
For comfort and safety, remove any jewelry and use the container on the end table or leave it at home. Enjoy your time with us!

Remember To Tip
Tipping your massage therapist is a wonderful way to show your gratitude for their amazing service. Tipping about 15-20% of the total cost is a good guideline. Don’t forget to check if they prefer cash – it’s always good to know!

Creating a Respectful and Professional Space
We are deeply committed to offering therapeutic services that truly benefit you, grounded in the highest standards of ethics. We pledge to always interact with you kindly and respectfully, ensuring a professional environment at all times. We ask for your understanding that any inappropriate behavior or comments will lead to an immediate termination of the session,, and unfortunately, no refund will be provided under such circumstances.

Dress Code for Massage Sessions
When you come in for a full-body massage, it’s truly important to wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that lets you move freely. This is especially true if you’re having a Thai massage.

Please remember that what you wear can change based on the type of massage you’re getting. For example, during a therapeutic massage, your therapist might ask you to partially or fully undress. Rest assured, you’ll have a private space to change and be properly covered with a sheet while on the table.

It is important to emphasize that your comfort remains our priority; hence, you are welcome to dress according to your personal preference without undue concern.

48-hour Cancellation Policy
Things happen, but it’s important to remember our 48-hour cancellation and no-show policies. We value both your time and our staff’s scheduled appointments. Our staff’s time slots are crucial for efficiently serving other clients and patients.

If you need to reschedule, we highly recommend calling us at least 48 hours before your appointment. This will allow our therapists to fill that open time slot with another appointment.

Please be aware that failing to cancel within the 48-hour window or not showing up for your appointment will result in a 100% charge for the service.

We appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain a smooth schedule for all our clients.

What if I am late for my appointment?
To show consideration for other scheduled clients, we may not be able to accommodate you for your full session allotted if you arrive late.

Will insurance pay for a therapeutic massage?
Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. However, we can charge your HSA or FSA credit card for therapeutic massages that relieve chronic pain. If there are issues, your provider might have restrictions. You can submit your receipt for reimbursement.

Do you accept Medicare?
We are sorry, but we do not accept Medicare.

Membership Policy

Auto-renewal billing
Your monthly membership renews on the 1st of each month. At that time, we will charge your credit card for either a 60-minute or 90-minute session at our special rate, adding one credit to your account every month. If you use up all your credits within the month and need additional sessions, those will be billed separately after each service.

Active Credit Card Status
Please keep your credit card details current to avoid service interruptions. We’ll notify you if there are issues. If your card expires by the next renewal, your membership may be canceled, requiring a re-registration fee to activate.

Family booking
Share your membership with immediate family members by including their details in your booking notes (full name, unique email, and cell number). We’ll create individual accounts for them, transfer applicable credits, and send intake forms to keep medical records updated. Thank you for trusting us with your loved ones’ care.

Using Credit Cards Among Family Members
We want to ensure a smooth experience for you and your loved ones. Since we don’t track who makes reservations within your family, please take a moment to communicate with each other to monitor credit card charges.

Acupuncture or BioFeedback Brain Balancing
Any credits you may have can be converted to Acupuncture or BioFeedback Brain Balancing service. Please call us at 847.961.4800 for assistance.

Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care and dry needling are already affordable; therefore, we cannot provide additional member discounts.

48-hour Cancellation Policy
Things happen, but it’s important to remember our 48-hour cancellation and no-show policies. We value both your time and our staff’s scheduled appointments.

If you need to reschedule, we highly recommend calling us at least 48 hours before your appointment. This will allow our therapists to fill that open time slot with another appointment.

Please be aware that failing to cancel within the 48-hour window or not showing up for your appointment will result in a 100% charge for the service.

Our staff’s time slots are crucial for efficiently serving other clients and patients.

Gift Certificates
As a valued member, you always receive our best prices. While promotional sales target non-members, your membership ensures the highest savings. Occasionally, we offer member-exclusive deals.

You can convert accumulated profile credits into gift certificates to show our gratitude.

Do I get a prorated refund upon canceling my membership?
The $85 monthly charge includes either a 60-minute Therapeutic Massage at the member’s rate of $85 (normally $110) or a 90-minute session at $126 (regularly $155). This fee is for specific services as part of our registered member program. Your membership renews monthly on the 1st, and any extra services will be billed at the member’s discounted rate. Therefore, there will be no prorated refund because it’s a service, not a monthly fee.

Can I convert my credits into Gift Certificates?
Yes, call us, and we will convert it for you.

Possible Error Charges
If you spot any incorrect charges, contact us for a review. Family members should discuss expenses to prevent surprises. We can help before you file a bank dispute.
